Dear Editor:
Congratulations for two recent editorials advocating protection of public lands in or near Montezuma County the Canyons of the Ancients National Monument travel plan (Sept. 22) and the San Juan Mountains Wilderness Act of 2011 introduced in the U.S. Senate by Senators Mark Udall and Michael Bennet (Sept. 29).
I thank the editor of the Cortez Journal for supporting these actions, welcome, I am sure, by all citizens concerned with protecting our environmental heritage. Keep up the good work.
