Greg Hobbs, an author, poet and water rights activist from Denver, will be at the Cortez Public Library as part of the Amazing Authors Grand Finale 2017 Tour on Wednesday, May 17, at 6 p.m.
Hobbs practiced environmental, transportation, land-use and water law for 23 years before becoming a Colorado Supreme Court Justice, serving from 1996-2015.
The Amazing Authors tour, which includes libraries in Bayfield, Cortez and Telluride, showcases writers from the Southwest and beyond. Hobbs plans to his humor and expertise on a wide range of literary and civic topics, according to a news release from Kathy Berg, an assistant at the Cortez library.
