Time has run out for this beautiful, affectionate female. She will be euthanized on Tuesday, Nov. 15, if a home is not found for her by then. A remarkable cat, about 3 years old, she came to the shelter as a stray with a litter of kittens. After raising them, she became the shelters surrogate mother for two more litters of kittens, saving them and earning her the nickname of Mama by shelter staff. She is a gorgeous peanut butter calico (a mixture of black and orange) with striking markings, black legs, and brilliant green eyes. Shes super friendly, cuddly, playful, good with other cats, and loves people and interaction. She is so happy when brought out of her cage. She is very quiet not a vocal girl and would make someone a wonderful pet and a great friend, if given the opportunity. She was due to be put to sleep last week, but it was decided to give this girl a few more days and a last chance to find a home by featuring her as the Pet of the Week. Please help bring a happy end to her story. The shelter is open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and on alternate Fridays. The shelter will be closed this Friday. Right now, the shelter needs Pedigree adult dog food, Pedigree or Purina puppy chow, Purina kitten chow, and rawhide chews to keep the many dogs and puppies there occupied. They also need cleaning supplies such as paper towels, dish soap, and bleach. As always, the shelter appreciates any donations that the community can bring in; every little bit helps.
