Thirty-Nine Cortez FFA members attended the Southwest District Hesperus Leadership Conference on Sept. 27-28. The students attended workshops on leadership, effective communication, achieving goals, and opportunities. Landan Wilson represented the chapter by interviewing for a district officer position. Ag. I students then had their own conference presented by Colorado State FFA Officers on the second day. Becoming Involved as a Greenhand (BIG) focused on teaching first year members about the FFA organization, how to take advantage of opportunities, how to work together and provided a chance for members to get to know other first year members from across the district.
