Pet of the Week

Pet of the Week

Whoops! This little girl got left behind. The last remaining puppy in a litter of four, her siblings have found new homes, and now it’s her turn. She’s a little black-and-white heeler mix — and, at about 12 weeks of age, not quite big enough to climb up on the bench. She’s super friendly and outgoing, and not shy at all. She seems to love being held. She’ll be of medium size when she grows up, and will be a good family dog. It’s a good time for someone to bring this cutie home. Come in and meet her; you won’t want to leave her behind. The shelter is open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and on alternate Fridays. The shelter will be closed this Friday. Right now, the shelter needs Purina kitten chow, cat and dog treats, and rawhide chews to keep the many dogs and puppies there occupied. They also need cleaning supplies such as Clorox or Lysol counter wipes, and hand sanitizer. As always, the shelter appreciates any donations that the community can bring in; every little bit helps. For more information, call the shelter at 565-4910. To view more animals, visit www.petfinder.com (enter 81321 zip code) or http://www.cityofcortez.com/government/animal_shelter.
