Waylon Begaye, 25, of Cortez, pleaded guilty to one count of protection order violation. He was ordered to pay $184.50 in fines and costs.
TUESDAY, NOV. 8
Andrew Cole Hill, 20, of Cortez, pleaded guilty to one count of driving while ability impaired. This is defendants first DUI conviction. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail with suspended imposition, and 12 months of supervised probation. He was ordered to pay $790.50 in fines and costs, and must perform 24 hours of community service by May 8, 2012. He must attend victim impact panel, Alive at 25, and Level II education. He must also submit to random tests for drugs and alcohol use. All standard conditions of probation apply, including no alcohol or illegal drug use. Defendant must follow all conditions of probation, and report to private probation on this date.
Star P. Stephens, 27, of Cortez, pleaded guilty to one count of driving while ability impaired. This is defendants first DUI conviction. She was sentenced to 30 days in jail with suspended imposition, and 12 months of supervised probation. She was ordered to pay $873 in fines and costs, and must perform 24 hours of community service. She must attend victim impact panel, Level II education, and 42 hours of therapy Track A. She must also obtain a substance abuse evaluation, and a mental health evaluation, and follow all recommendations of both. Defendant must submit to random tests for drugs and alcohol use. All standard conditions of probation apply, including no alcohol or illegal drug use. Defendant must follow all conditions of probation, and report to private probation on this date.
Sheanna Vida Hernandez, 36, of Woodland Park, Colo., pleaded guilty to one count of driving while ability impaired. This is the defendants second DUI conviction. She was sentenced to one year in jail with suspended imposition, but must serve 10 days in jail at this time. If defendant is approved for home detention in Teller County, she must serve 20 days of home detention, and must begin serving this sentence immediately upon approval, with proof to be faxed to the court. Upon receipt of approval of home detention, the court will fax the required documents to the appropriate agency/county. The defendant is sentenced to serve an additional 365 days in jail however, imposition is suspended as long as terms of probation are followed. She also received 24 months of supervised probation. She was ordered to pay $2,234.50 in fines and costs, and must perform 60 hours of community service by Nov. 8, 2012. Defendant must complete Level II education and 68 hours of therapy. She must submit to random tests for drugs and alcohol use, and complete parenting classes. All standard conditions of probation apply, including no alcohol or illegal drug use. Defendant must follow all conditions of probation, and report to state probation on this date; probation can be transferred to Teller County. She must report to serve jail sentence on Dec. 9 at 10 p.m. if home detention is not authorized.
WEDNESDAY, NOV. 9
Ryan Paul Swanner, 20, of Dolores, pleaded guilty to one count of underage possession/consumption of alcohol. He was sentenced to 25 days in jail with a stay of execution, to report on Dec. 22, 2011 at 10 p.m. Work release is authorized. He was ordered to pay $209.50 in fines and costs. He was ordered to perform 24 hours of community service by May 1, 2012. Defendant must complete alcohol classes ordered in Case #10M69 and provide proof to the court within three months.
Jonathan Sam Jr., 26, of Mancos, pleaded guilty to one count of theft $500 to $1000. He was sentenced to 10 days in jail with a stay of execution. A work release or weekender program is authorized. Defendant is to report to jail on Nov. 18, at 10 p.m. He was also ordered to pay $184.50 in fines and costs, and must perform 72 hours of community service, to be completed by May 9, 2012.
Taryn B. Wheeler, 19, of Cortez, pleaded guilty to one count of theft under $500 and received a deferred sentence of 10 days in jail with suspended imposition. She was ordered to pay $184.50 in fines and costs, and must perform 96 hours of community service, to be completed by Aug. 9, 2012. Defendant must violate no laws traffic or criminal, and must keep her address current with the court.
