Dear Editor:
In reference to an article by Andrew Gulliford entitled Military flyovers create risks for San Juan Mountains, I consider Mr. Gullifords reasons for opposing the flyovers pretty lame: a 1960s plane crash? Maybe we should shut down all of our mountain passes because a few cars have rolled to the bottoms and never been retrieved. Pregnant sheep? Give me a break!
I think that its pretty arrogant to think that your quiet walk in the mountains (and I assume you walk at night because that is when most flyovers will occur) is more important than the special operations training of our armed forces. This is an opportunity to truly support our troops, or is that only for Veterans Day?
