Montezuma-Cortez High School Panthers senior Jay Rainer goes up for a shot on Saturday at the Ignacio High School preseason basketball scrimmage. M-CHS played two, two-quarter (eight minutes per quarter) games against both 2A Ignacio and 3A Pagosa Springs. The official season kicks off for the Panthers on Friday at home at 12:00 p.m. in the Four Corners Classic. M-CHS will face Shiprock (N.M.) Northwest High School.
