Denise Cheri Simmons, 56, of Cortez, pleaded guilty to one count of unlawful ownership of a dangerous dog. She was ordered to pay $76 in fines and costs.
WEDNESDAY, NOV. 23
Desmond William Lehi, 23, of Towaoc, pleaded guilty to one count of possession of drug paraphernalia, and was ordered to pay $126 in fines and costs.
Derick Keith Hurst, 19, of Mancos, pleaded guilty to underage possession/consumption of alcohol and received a deferred sentence of 12 months unsupervised probation. As a condition of deferral, he must comply with the following conditions: He was ordered to pay $306 in fines and costs. He must violate no laws, traffic or criminal, and must keep his address current with the court. He was also ordered to complete the Alive at 25 program.
Virgil J. Espinoza, 19, of Mancos, pleaded guilty to one count of underage possession/consumption of alcohol and received a deferred sentence of 12 months unsupervised probation. As a condition of deferral, defendant must comply with the following conditions: He must pay $56 in fines and costs, and must obtain an alcohol evaluation and treatment, and follow all recommendations of same. Proof must be filed with the court by Jan. 9, 2012. Defendant must submit a research paper by Jan. 9, 2012. A misdemeanor fine and 24 hours of useful public service or community service are suspended, pending defendants compliance with deferred sentence conditions. He must violate no laws traffic or criminal, and must keep his address current with the court.
TUESDAY, NOV. 29
Dennis W. Orange, 20, of Towaoc, pleaded guilty of one count of underage possession/consumption of alcohol. He received a deferred sentence of 12 months unsupervised probation. As a condition of deferral, he must meet the following conditions: He must pay $306 in fines and costs, and must obtain an alcohol evaluation and provide proof of this to the court and follow all recommendations. He must perform 24 hours of useful public service by May 1, 2012. He must violate no laws, traffic or criminal, and must keep his address current with the court.
Wayne Michael Spurgeon, 50, of Cortez, pleaded guilty to one count of protection order violation civil. He was sentenced to 10 days in jail with a stay of execution, with seven days credit for time served. He must report to jail on Dec. 9, 2011. He was also ordered to pay $184.50 in fines and costs. In a separate matter, he pleaded guilty to one count of protection order violation-civil, and was ordered to pay $184.50 in fines and costs. He was given 10 days credit for time served.
Veronica Salazar, 31, of Cortez, pleaded guilty to one count of driving after revocation prohibited-habitual traffic offender. She was ordered to pay $4,271.50 in fines and costs. She was also ordered to perform 72 hours of community service by Nov. 29, 2012.
WEDNESDAY, NOV. 30
Kenneth Andrew Graham, 47, of Yellow Jacket, pleaded guilty to one count of possession of marijuana-under 2 ounces, and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. He was ordered to pay $531 in fines and costs.
