Dear Editor:
After reading the article Thieves target puffers on the front page of the Cortez Journal on Dec. 8, I believe there are double standards here in Cortez.
Last winter I was approached by a state trooper on my dead-end street and warned that I had left my car running and could have had it stolen. I was told to layer up instead of letting my car run! So, its OK for me to put my child in a cold car, but officers can let theirs puff so they and their children get in warm vehicles.
Well, maybe law enforcement officials should be cited for letting their personal and law enforcement vehicles run so they can get in a warm car.I get that its not a good idea, but law enforcement should practice what they preach!
