THURSDAY, DEC. 1
An officer was dispatched to a residence in reference to a burglary. The home owner stated that someone had been present in the home up until 3:30 p.m. that day. When he returned around 7:30 p.m., he found the front door open, the front screen door propped open with the screen torn or cut, and found that his 40 inch flat screen television missing. The glass in the rear door of the house had been broken and the door was open. The connection wires to the TV had been disconnnected, not cut, and nothing else in the house appeared to be disturbed.
An officer responded to the parking lot of a local restaurant for a call of a possible vandalism to vehicle tires. A woman there showed the officer the two back tires of her vehicle. Both tires were flat, and the officer noted one puncture up to 2 inches in diameter in each tire. The cars owner thought that it may have been done by her nephew, since he had been asked to leave her house after an argument, and had been sending her threatening text messages, such as Watch your back, you messed with the wrong person. The nephew denied knowing anything about the tires being slashed and expressed frustration at his aunt and said she was lying and he wanted to file a restraining order against her. He was told to stop sending his aunt text messages and to stay away from her property.
FRIDAY, DEC. 2
An officer reported to a residence in response to a call about a stolen toilet. A man at the residence told officers that he was redoing a bathroom in the house and went out to get the new toilet in the carport next to the alley, and it was gone. The toilet was last seen the day before, still in its box, as it had just been purchased. He also wanted to report other additional items that had recently been stolen from the carport, including a blue hydraulic pump, four orange jack stands, and a Craftsman battery charger.
An officer responded to a disturbance at a motel on Main St., and contacted a male known to him from prior contacts. The male was intoxicated and slurring his words, and said that he was trying to catch the people that damaged a window. The screen to a window was torn and lying on the ground, with the frame in pieces. The manager at the motel told the officer that the male had done it, and had tried to open the door by reaching in and unlocking it after tearing the screen off. A witness who was in an adjacent room said that he heard the noise and when he opened his door to see what what happening, the male suspect charged towards his door, and told him that he was on angel dust and he could dip a cigarette for $10. The witness stated that the suspect appeared to be intoxicated and asked him wheres the week and then wanted to fight. The suspect was taken into custody. While at the jail, the suspect told the officer that he was a gangster with Sur 13 and asked How many points do I get for killing a cop? He was left in the care and custody of jail staff.
SUNDAY, DEC. 4
An officer was asked to assist with roadside maneuvers at a traffic stop at Beech St. and Main. The officer on scene told him that the driver of a van was claiming that he was very drunk. The male driver said that he was heading just up the road to a hotel. When asked if he had been drinking, the driver said yes, that he was hammered. When asked if there was anyone in the vehicle that was sober and could drive, he said that all the adults in the vehicle had been drinking. There were multiple open containers of alcohol around the driver and front passenger seats. There were also four children in the van, two 1-year-olds, and two 4-year-olds, and they none of them had car seats or seat belts on. The driver was charged with failure to present insurance, DUI, driving with a blood alcohol lever of .08 or more, driving with a suspended license, driving with no headlights after dark, and child abuse. The other occupants of the van were driven to a motel.
