Dear Editor:
As an avid snowmobiler and power-sports enthusiast, Ive dealt with numerous ATV shops in a wide variety of areas. Jay Kibel, owner of Outdoor Connection in Cortez, and his staff, have consistently provided customer and technical service FAR in excess of anything Ive ever experienced anywhere. In addition to the usual spot-on mechanical service and general snowmobile/ATV sales/equipment, Jay has provided incredible rescue service for broken or damaged snowmobiles and ATVs.
In fact, on one memorable occasion when my snowmobile was completely broken down on top of Sharkstooth Peak, Jay loaned me a brand new snowmobile to try to rescue mine. When that attempt failed two of Jays staff came to West Mancos after dark, completely on their own time and with their own equipment, to help me facilitate a midnight rescue of the damaged sled. They would not take any money for their efforts, and thereby solidified my loyalty as a customer for life with this fine establishment.
On another occasion it was a broken front wheel on a dune buggy, and Jays brother Bill graciously offered to let me use his personal ATV to do whatever necessary to retrieve the damaged buggy. You just dont find that type of customer service anywhere these days, except at Outdoor Connection! That is why I have always taken the time to tell anyone and everyone I meet, if and when it came time to purchase a snowmobile, ATV or UTV, go directly to Jays shop!
Sadly, Jay has chosen to close his doors for good this Saturday, and I just wanted to say Thank You to Jay, Bill, Bob, Travis, Bear and all of the other excellent folks who have worked there over the years. Thanks for walking the talk when it comes to service. You guys will be missed!
