Yolanda Begay Captain, 20, of Cortez, pleaded guilty to one count of protection order violation. This sentence is consecutive with case number 11M413. She was sentenced to 10 days in jail. Electronic Home Monitoring has been authorized; if approved by the jail, the defendant will served 20 days on EHM in lieu of 10 days jail. She was also ordered to pay $270 in fines and costs.
MONDAY, DEC. 12
Thomas W. Burris, 22, of Cortez, pleaded guilty to one count of harassment strike/shove/kick. He was sentenced to 15 days in jail, to begin serving sentence on Dec. 17, and was additionally sentenced to 24 months of supervised probation. He was ordered to pay $1,989 in fines and costs, and must complete a domestic violence evaluation and follow all recommendations for treatment. He must also complete all requirements as ordered in case number 10T791, including 42 hours of substance abuse therapy. He must obtain a substance abuse evaluation and follow all recommendations, and must pay restitution as ordered by the court any and all court-ordered fines, costs and fees. He must abstain from all alcohol and illicit drugs, and must submit to random tests for drug and alcohol use. He may not contract any financial obligations without approval of probation officer and/or collections investigator. He was ordered to report to state probation on Dec. 12.
Christopher G. Neuwirth, 26, of Cortez, pleaded guilty to one count of assault in the third degree knowingly/recklessly causing injury. He received a deferred sentence of 24 months supervised probation and was ordered to pay $1,512.50 in fines and costs. He must complete a domestic violence evaluation and follow all recommendations for treatment. He must complete 48 hours of useful public service, and shall participate in a substance abuse treatment program for alcohol. Defendant must refrain from any use of alcohol or possession of any unlawfully controlled substance. He must obtain an anger management evaluation and follow all recommendations, which may be part of domestic violence treatment, if it is included. He must submit to random tests for drug and alcohol use, as instructed by probation. He must pay any and all court-ordered fines, costs and fees. He shall not contract any financial obligations without approval of probation officer and/or collections investigator, and was ordered to report to state probation on Dec. 12.
Catherine Louise Sykes, 43, of Mancos, pleaded guilty to one count of harassment strike/shove/kick, and received a deferred sentence of 24 months supervised probation. She was ordered to pay $1,301 in fines and costs, and must complete a domestic violence evaluation and follow all recommendations for treatment. Defendant may request unsupervised probation when domestic violence treatment has been completed, and may request to be transferred to La Plata County for supervision. The defendant shall follow all recommendations of the alcohol evaluation, and shall refrain from any use of alcohol or possession of any unlawfully controlled substance. She must submit to random tests for drug and alcohol use as instructed by probation. She must continue mental health treatment, including participation in dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT). She must pay any and all court-ordered fines, costs and fees. The court finds the defendant indigent and waives all possible fees/surcharges that are allowed. She may not contract any financial obligations without approval of probation officer and/or collections investigator. She was ordered to report to state probation on Dec. 12.

He was ordered to pay $1,461.50 in fines and costs, and must complete a domestic violence evaluation and follow all recommendations for treatment. He must participate in a substance abuse treatment program for alcohol. Defendant shall refrain from any use of alcohol or possession of any unlawfully controlled substance. He must submit to random tests for drug and alcohol use as instructed by probation. He must complete an anger management evaluation and follow all recommendations, if not included in domestic violence treatment. Defendant shall not relocate outside of Colorado without prior approval of the Interstate Commission for Adult Offender supervision. He must pay any and all court-ordered fines, costs and fees, and may not contract any financial obligations without approval of probation officer and/or collections investigator. He was ordered to report to state probation on Dec. 12.

Jonathan Navarro-Rascon, 22, of Mancos, pleaded guilty to one count of providing alcohol to a minor and received a deferred sentence. He was ordered to pay $184.50 in fines and costs. He must violate no laws traffic or criminal, and must keep his address current with the court.
Tim Michael Lawrence, 60, of Mancos, pleaded guilty to one count of providing alcohol to a minor, and received a deferred sentence of 12 months unsupervised probation. He was ordered to pay $384.50 in fines and costs. He must violate no laws traffic or criminal, and must keep his address current with the court.
Keyvin C. Snowberger, 31, of Egnar, Colo., pleaded guilty to one count of speeding 5 to 9 miles over the speed limit. He was ordered to pay $124.50 in fines and costs.
Charles B. Moore, 19, of Cortez, pleaded guilty to one count of possession of marijuana under 2 ounces. He was ordered to pay $431 in fines and costs.
