Pet of the Week

Pet of the Week

Four lonely kittens could use some love and affection this holiday season. These two 9-week-old girls are part of a litter of four that were brought in on Monday. Their siblings are two little males that look almost identical to these two — a brown tabby, and a black and white shorthair — all with big, golden eyes. There are also some very loving, affectionate adult cats wishing hard for a home; a gray Russian blue, a rotund white calico/tabby shorthair, a tiny white male with round, black spots, and a large and very, very chubby calico longhair with no voice. Please consider opening your home to a kitten, or a lonely heart dog, cat, or puppy — and make their holiday a happy one. The shelter is open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and on alternate Fridays. The shelter will be closed this Friday, as well as Monday, Dec. 26. Right now, the shelter needs Iams puppy or kitten chow, Purina or Pedigree adult dog, Iams or Purina cat food, non-clumping cat litter, and all sorts of dog chews or rawhides to keep the dogs and puppies there occupied. They also would love some new dog toys for their homeless dogs’ stockings, as the ones at the shelter have seen better days. The shelter could also use cleaning supplies such as bleach, dish soap, Pine Sol, and paper towels. As the season for giving and sharing approaches, please don’t forget our community’s homeless and stray pets. For more information, call the shelter at 565-4910.
