Kate F. Stover, 30, of Cortez, pleaded no contest to 3rd degree assault knowingly/recklessly causing injury. She received a deferred sentence of 24 months supervised probation, and was ordered to pay $1,487.50 in fines and costs. Defendant must complete a domestic violence evaluation and follow all recommendations, and must continue mental health treatment, including taking prescription medications. She was ordered to participate in a substance abuse support group to be agreed upon by her probation officer, and must refrain from any use of alcohol or possession of any unlawfully controlled substances. She must undergo random tests for drug and alcohol use as directed by probation. The defendant must violate no laws traffic or criminal, and must keep her address current with the court. She shall not contract any financial obligations without approval of her probation officer and/or collections investigator. Defendant may file a motion to terminate probation supervision when domestic violence treatment is completed.
Jeremiah Caine Tweedale, 33, of Cortez, pleaded guilty to one count of driving under the influence. He was sentenced to 20 days in jail, to begin serving his sentence on Jan. 17, 2012, and was additionally sentenced to 24 months of supervised probation, concurrent with previous case #11M288. He was also sentenced to 365 days in jail with suspended imposition. He was ordered to pay $2,562.50 in fines and costs. Work release is authorized if approved by the Montezuma County Sheriffs Office. He was ordered to perform 60 hours of community service by Jan. 9, 2013. He was ordered to attend victim impact panel, and must complete Level II education and outpatient therapy, Track C 68 hours, and an enhanced outpatient program. He must also complete an Attitudinal Dynamics of Driving course, and must submit to random tests for drugs and alcohol use. Defendant must engage in treatment within 15 days of sentencing or jail release. He may not contract any financial obligation without approval of probation officer and/or collections investigator. He may apply for Electronic Home Monitoring on this case only and if he qualifies, will serve 40 days instead of 20 in jail. The 365 day jail sentence is suspended imposition as a condition of completion of all requirements of probation.

He must obtain a domestic violence evaluation and follow all recommendations, and must attend, participate in, and complete domestic violence counseling. Defendant must address and sanction if imposed in 11IA990005 from New Mexico. He must write a letter of apology to the child, to be submitted to probation within 30 days of sentencing. He must also write a three-page paper regarding the effects of domestic violence on children to be submitted to probation within 6 months of sentencing. Defendant must submit to random tests for drug and alcohol use. He must report to probation on sentencing date and follow all recommendations of probation. He must comply with alcohol and substance abuse evaluation and treatment in case #11CR176. The jail sentence is consecutive with case #11CR176. Defendant shall not contract any financial obligations without approval of probation officer and/or collections investigator.
