I’m writing to share some good news for our community that I think was somehow missed by our local media.
One of our local entrepreneurs, Mitchell Toms, was recognized by the El Pomar Foundation and the Denver Broncos as a Community Champion at the Broncos Salute to Fans tour in Cortez on April 21 at Parque De Vida.
Mitchell was recognized for his involvement in so many community organizations over the years, including Habitat for Humanity, Montezuma Community Economic Development Council, Cortez Cultural Center and many others.
Additionally, Mitchell’s stellar efforts in helping to revitalize downtown Cortez were recognized, as was his work as a real estate developer working with many small businesses to facilitate their ability to locate their businesses in downtown Cortez.
Congratulations, Mitchell, for this recognition and for your great work to build a better community and downtown in Cortez. Thank you so much for the tremendous investment of your time, energy and resources!
