The Montezuma-Cortez five had another strong outing on the mats Wednesday night.
Panthers wrestlers Levi Gross, Ryan Daves, Justice Ramos, Seager Oliver and Trenton Gustafson went 4-1 at Monticello (Utah).
Team scores werent taken since the Buckaroos had a full squad. It was a friendly 5-on-5 competition that counted toward individual records.
Gross got things started at 113 pounds for Montezuma-Cortez High School. He won a major decision (13-4) over Chance Weahkee.
Daves decisioned Brian Robinson, 7-0, in the 126-pound match.
Oliver and Gustafson scored pins over Tim Ryan and Austin Wilcox at 152 and 182 pounds.
Monticellos Curtis Baird edged Ramos on a 14-11 decision at 132 pounds.
The Panthers are at it again today at 9 a.m. at the Rifle High School dual tournament.
