Pet of the Week

Pet of the Week

This puppy is Fuzzy ... and Fuzzy’s a very, very large puppy. This big cinnamon bear is only eight months-old, and was a found stray. He’s a Great Pyrenees/Australian shepherd mix, with the Pyrenees part being the most obvious. He’s got big feet and you can bet this boy’s going to grown into them; Fuzzy’s going to be a big, big dog when he grows up. He’s absolutely beautiful, with a buff-colored coat shading to orange tones. Fuzzy’s super-sweet and playful. He’s strong and energetic, too. His breed is used as a livestock guardian dog, and they’re known for being smart and loyal. He tends to want to be the dominant dog. Please consider opening your home to this great puppy, or one of many other deserving dogs, puppies, kittens, and cats — including the gregarious and pretty little calico cat from last week — and give one of them a chance for a happy life. The shelter is open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and on alternate Fridays; they will be closed next Friday. Right now, the shelter needs Iams puppy or kitten chow, Purina or Pedigree adult dog food, Iams or Purina cat food, non-clumping cat litter, and all sorts of dog chews or rawhides. The shelter always needs dish soap and dishwasher detergent (powder). It may be time to welcome home the new — and possibly fuzzy — love of your life. For more information, call the shelter at 565-4910. To view more animals, visit www.petfinder.com (enter 81321 zip code) or http://www.cityofcortez.com/government/animal_shelter.
