Pet of the Week

Pet of the Week

This is Oreo, he is a sweet-natured Border Collie Kelpie mix puppy. He is approximately 4 months old. His breed requires a lot of exercise and room to run and play. They need to be kept busy or go to a home that will use him for livestock. Oreo was very shy when he first came to the shelter but is starting to come out of his shell. He would make a good 4-H project dog. Whoever adopts Oreo will need to have plenty of patience. Please consider opening your home to this great puppy, or one of many other deserving dogs, puppies, kittens or cats and give one of them a chance for a happy life. The shelter is open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and on alternate Fridays; they will be closed this Friday, Feb. 3. Right now, the shelter needs Iams puppy or kitten food, Purina or Pedigree adult dog food, Iams or Purina cat food, non-clumping cat litter, and all sorts of dog chews or rawhides. The shelter always needs dish soap and dishwasher detergent (powder). It may be time to welcome home the new — and possibly fuzzy — love of your life. For more information, call the shelter at 565-4910. To view more animals, visit www.petfinder.com (enter 81321 zip code) or http://www.cityofcortez.com/government/animal_shelter.
