Five Branches Camper Park at Vallecito Lake plans to host Wolfwood Refuge on Aug. 5 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Lunch will be served at noon, followed by an educational talk at 1 p.m.
The event is free, but a $5 donation for lunch is accepted.
Families are encouraged to meet the wolves. The visit will be Trinity’s last visit to Vallecito. The wolves visited the Mancos Public Library in June.
Wolfwood is a state- and federal-licensed rescue facility for wolves and wolfdogs and is home to 61 animals. In addition to rescuing animals, Wolfwood provides opportunities for more than 60 different organizations a year, including local schools, to meet the wolves, do service projects and learn about animal behavior.
Five Branches is located at Vallecito Lake, 4677 County Road 501A.
