Pet of the Week

Pet of the Week

Cute as a speckled pup. These Australian Cattle Dog puppies — also known as “Heelers” — will grow up to be great working dogs. This little blue Heeler pup with rust markings is a female, and the white and black-spotted one is a boy. These two are four months old, and will grow up to be medium-sized at their largest. They are adorable, and very alert and interested in everything going on around them. Please consider opening your home or ranch to a puppy, or one of the other deserving animals that have found themselves at the shelter, and give one (or more!) a chance for a happy life. The shelter is open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and on alternate Fridays; they will be closed this Friday. Right now, the shelter needs Iams puppy or kitten chow, Purina or Pedigree adult dog food, Iams or Purina cat food, non-clumping cat litter, and all sorts of dog chews or rawhides. The shelter always needs dish soap and dishwasher detergent (powder). It may be time to welcome home the new — and possibly cattle-herding — love of your life. For more information, call the shelter at 565-4910. To view more animals, visit www.petfinder.com (enter 81321 zip code) or http://www.cityofcortez.com/government/animal_shelter.
