A talk by Kari Schleher – “Pottery Production, Learning and Social Networks from the Central Mesa Verde Region to Galisteo Basin” – will be presented by the San Juan Basin Archaeological Society at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Center of Southwest Studies at Fort Lewis College.
A social will precede the talk at 6:30 p.m. The presentation is part of the Four Corners Lecture Series.
Schleher is the laboratory manager at the Crow Canyon Archaeological Center and an adjunct assistant professor of anthropology at the University of New Mexico.
She is interested in social relationships as a means of understanding connections between individuals and communities in the past. Her talk will explore how pottery production, use and distribution can be used as a tool to understand social relationships in the past. The public is invited to attend.
