After her hearing was delayed twice, Keesha MacAulay is scheduled to appear in Cortez Municipal Court on Aug. 28 in connection with a fight at a children’s T-ball game.
The Cortez resident received a summons for disturbing the peace on June 19 after witnesses claimed she was involved in a fight between several adults at a Southwest Softball Association T-ball game at Parque de Vida. A spectator from Shiprock, New Mexico, posted a short video of the incident on Facebook, where it received more than 33,000 views by Aug. 14. The video showed several women kicking and dragging MacAulay, who appeared to be trying to grab one of them by the hair.
MacAulay’s first scheduled court appearance was on July 31. It was rescheduled to Aug. 14, when Municipal Judge James Shaner agreed to reschedule it again. City Attorney Mike Green said law enforcement is still investigating the June 19 incident, and said he’s had trouble contacting the officers leading the investigation.
MacAulay’s hearing is now scheduled for 9 a.m. Monday, Aug. 28.
