Come Dance Tonight has begun a country dance club entitled Cortez Country Club. A club devoted to country dancing and learning to dance country, dancing will be offered that appeals to couples and singles once a month on Saturday night at the Come Dance Tonight studio at 30 West Main, with the first dance on Saturday, March 24.
The club will offer country two-step and country waltz, and will also include swing dancing to country music, as well as line dancing for both singles and couples. Workshops to learn these dances, or to improve existing skills will be available to club members at the same location on Saturday afternoon. The first of these workshops will also be held on March 24, and a mini workshop begins the Saturday night dance. The workshops and dance are $8 each. Discount packages are available. Club membership is included with attendance.
The Saturday dance lesson schedule is as follows: 1 p.m. Beginning Two Step; 2 p.m. Break with practice; 2:30 p.m. Beginning Waltz; 3:30 p.m. Break with practice; 4 p.m. Beginning Jitterbug; 5 p.m. Practice. On Saturday evening at 7 p.m. there is a line dance, and the Cortez Country Club moves on to social dancing at 7:30 p.m. Additionally, the club offers line dancing every Monday evening at 6 p.m.
