Animas Museum marks 100th anniversary of World War I

Chautauqua-style performance planned to bring war to life

Culinary Heritage Dinner

The Animas Museum will celebrate America’s entrance into World War I with an authentic meal. The dinner will benefit the Animas Museum. It will be held at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 16 at The Strater Hotel. For tickets, call 259-2402 or visit AnimasMuseum.org.

An Evening with Gen. John Pershing

The La Plata County Historical Society will host An Evening with Gen. Pershing at 7 p.m. Sept. 5 at the grange behind Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad Depot. Admission is free and guests will be seated on a first-come, first-served basis. The cash bar opens at 6:30 p.m. Donations are welcome.

Lecture

Andrew Gulliford will give a lecture on World War I at 1 p.m. Sept. 30 at the Animas Museum.
