Pet of the Week

Pet of the Week

howdy, pardner. Found abandoned with his sister, this beautiful russet-colored Husky-Heeler mix pup is ready to find his own home. He’s all alone, now that his sister has been adopted. This young fellow is 4 months old, and has a very sweet and affectionate personality. His orange fur is thick and soft, and he has the markings of a Husky, amber eyes and ears that pop up at attention to any sound. As Huskies tend to be, he is very energetic and will do well in a home where he can get lots of exercise. He would be a great hiking partner. Please consider bringing this loving pup into your life so he’ll have a chance for a happy life. The shelter is open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and on alternate Fridays. They will be closed this Friday, and on Monday for the Memorial Day holiday. Right now, the shelter needs Iams puppy food, Purina or Iams kitten food, Purina or Pedigree dog food, and big rawhide chews to keep their dogs occupied. They also need bleach and paper towels. The shelter could use some good-hearted humans to volunteer just one hour a week for the good of these homeless animals. In one hour, you can walk dogs at the dog park next to the shelter, or sit and play with the kittens and pet the cats so they present well for potential adopters. The time spent goes by in a heartbeat, but in just one hour, you can make a huge difference in the life of an animal. For more information, call the shelter at 565-4910.
