WEDNESDAY, MAY 30
An officer responded to the gazebo area of Centennial Park for a report of a theft that had occurred. He met with a woman on the scene who told him that she had brought a green plastic tub full of items at about 7:30 a.m. to the gazebo for a day in the park with children from the middle school. She left the tub unattended while she retrieved other items and found on return that the tub was gone. The tub contained soda, miscellaneous sporting items for the day in the park, charcoal, and a black L.L. Bean blanket. Officers contacted various people around the park, but the tub was not located.
SUNDAY, JUNE 3
An officer was dispatched to a residence for a report of a burglary. Two residents on scene believed that a former roommate had stolen prescription drugs, jewelry and a Social Security card from a locked safe, and other items from the inside of the residence. The female suspect had been a recent roommate for approximately one month, possibly still had a key to the residence, and had left on poor terms while still owing rent. Officers were notified of a location the suspect could be found and a description of her car that happened to be sporting stolen license plates. Info was also given that the female suspect was driving with a revoked California drivers license, was selling marijuana and possibly other drugs, and was armed at all times with a .380-caliber, semi-automatic pistol.
An officer was dispatched at around noon for a report of an intoxicated bicyclist riding his bike in the middle of the street and crashing numerous times in the street. He was described as a male wearing a white tank top and a shirt tied around his head. Another officer radioed that he had located the subject laying in the street in an intersection, tangled up in his bicycle. He was contacted and found to be extremely intoxicated. The 18-year-old male stated that he was homeless. He was treated for his minor cuts and scratches and medically cleared to be incarcerated. He was advised that he could pick up his bicycle at the police department after he is released from jail.
MONDAY, JUNE 4
Two officers responded to a residence in Cortez for a report of an intoxicated person who would not leave. An officer observed that there was a female sitting on the floor just inside the door of the residence. The reporting party said that the female came to her door and she let her come in because she knew her mother, although she did not know the subject. She stated that she briefly left the room, and when she returned the woman was gone. The reporting party said that she found the woman in her bed without any clothes on, and that the woman was touching herself. She stated that she told the woman to leave, and that the woman got dressed but refused to leave the residence. The officer asked the subject to step outside and spoke with her; she gave a first name and a date of birth, and said she was 21 years old and she wanted to walk home. When asked where she lived, she stated, California. The subject was acting intoxicated. She gave additional names that dispatch had no record of. The date of birth the woman gave would have made her 20 years old, but it was obvious that she was much older than what she was claiming. She was placed into custody and taken to the emergency room for clearance. At the ER, the nurse noticed a tattoo on the female with a name that matched jail photos of a tattoo on record for a 37-year-old woman. The woman confirmed that she was the person on record. The woman could not sit still. She would stand up and start dancing and spinning around, and talking to people who were not there. A doctor on scene advised officers that there was methamphetamine in the womans system.
An officer received an anonymous complaint about a person on a bike in the City Market parking lot. The caller said that the person was riding recklessly in the parking lot. A person on scene pointed out the male on his bike and said that he thought he was high. Police contacted the subject, a 16-year-old male in the parking lot of Front Row Seat. He said he was just riding his bike and didnt realize he had caused anyone concern. Dispatch advised of an outstanding arrest warrant for possession of drug paraphernalia. After he was placed under arrest, officers searched him an found a glass smoking pipe, a lighter, and a small plastic bag of marijuana. Officers called the juvenile subjects mother, and he was issued a new summons for possession.
