Dena Mari Vegas was born April 28, 1987 in Durango to Dan and Linnea Vegas. She passed away Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012 at her home in Moundhouse, Nev.
A lover of animals, Dena spent many days as a child around her home and grandmothers home patiently waiting to catch birds, including hummingbirds. She filled hearts with joy and many giggles with her antics. She loved hugging people and was known for her hearty squeezes. She lives on in memories of the heart and will always be Dena Mena.
She is survived by her husband, Aaron Martin of Moundhouse; parents, Dan and Linnea Vegas of Mancos; sister, Tyra Hughes and husband Blake; niece, Avonlea Hughes, also of Mancos; grandmother, Hilda Vegas of Oakdale, Calif., and by many cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.
Dena was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Thompson; aunt, Jeanette Kennedy; grandfather, Joe Vegas; grandparents, Borje and Dorothy Hesselgren; and her aunt, Pat Hesselgren.
