Dear Editor:
I am writing this letter is regards to last Friday nights football game at Dolores High School. Being new to the area, I have never witnessed such support and selfless acts as those of our own Dolores Fire and Rescue Crews. As I prepare our players, coaches, fields and stands for the BIG game, I never anticipate or foresee many accidents happening, much less, utilizing our Dolores Fire & Rescue Department multiple times. To have them called out onto the field is one time too many, yet they answered our multiple calls for help promptly and with pride. They performed with the utmost professionalism, remained calm and helped maintain a level of control during our hectic athletic events of the evening. I, for one, had a slight sense of panic, not only from the perspective of a mother, but from the view of an Athletic Director. Neither panic nor fear was ever evident in the face of these professionals as they cared for our student athletes as if they were their own children.
These professionals were able to maintain composure and keep the parents reassured that their children were going to be OK. I, personally, couldnt have made it through this evening without the assistance and caring professionalism of the Dolores Fire & Rescue Department. I just wanted to say thank you from the Dolores School District.
With deepest thanks,
Rose Woods
Athletics Director, Dolores MS/HS
