AT THE FIRST Tri-State Firemen’s Convention in 1937, this picture was taken of the Dolores and Gallup, N.M., fire departments at Cortez. The Dolores fire truck is at right. Pictured from left at the front of the Dolores truck, are Tim Jones, chief, Nat McCallister, Paul McCormick, Spence Thomas, Willis Thomas, not identified, Gale Plumlee and Jim Garrison. Reg Miller is in the seat of the truck. Jones was chief for five or six years before he resigned in October, 1938. This picture is from his collection.
