Cortez Library announces ongoing displays for fall
The Four Corners Miniatures Club is currently displaying their miniatures and doll houses at the Cortez Public Library. October is International Dollhouse & Miniatures Month. Douglas Mays display of his cartoons continues, and he is donating half of his sale proceeds to the library. Both displays will be up until the end of October.
Characters to Discuss theme for Storytime
Characters to Discuss is the October theme of Raising Readers Storytime at the Cortez Public Library. Storytime is held every Thursday and Saturday at 10:30 a.m. for preschool-aged children. Older children are welcome to join in for the craft at 11:15 a.m. on Thursdays. The Saturday Storytime is held, weather permitting, at the Cortez Farmers Market on the corner of Elm and Main Streets. Both days of the week will follow the same theme. On Saturdays there will be no craft.
Time for Witches! will wrap up the month on Thursday, Oct. 25 and Saturday, Oct. 27. Raising Readers Storytime offers songs, stories, crafts and silliness and uses the Early Childhood Literacy Initiative program.
Computer training classes
The Cortez Public Library and the Unlimited Learning Center, 640 E. 2nd St., will offer computer classes in October. On Thursday, Oct. 25 at 10:30 a.m. there will be a Basic Computer Class at the Unlimited Learning Center. At 1 p.m. at the library there will be a class on Word. All classes at the library must be signed up for ahead of time, as space is limited. Sign up by calling the library or by stopping by. MAncos Public Library

Little People Storytime
The Mancos Public Library offers Little People Storytime on Wednesdays at 10 a.m. in both English and Spanish. Children ages 3-6 will be taught songs, verses and stories in both languages with the changing of the seasons emphasized. A craft is also offered.
After-school movies on Mondays
The Mancos Public Library will show Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi (2 hours and 14 minutes) at 4 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 29. This is for ages eight and above.
Halloween party at Mancos library
The Mancos Public Library will have its Halloween Howl (a pre-trick or treat party) on Monday, October 31 from 5 to 6 p.m. Spruce up your costume with mask making supplies, get your face painted, enjoy a warm bowl of Turkey Chili, visit with friends and plan your evening trick or treating strategies. Introduction to Quickbooks in Dolores
Introduction to Quickbooks is coming to Dolores on Tuesday, Oct. 30 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Dolores Public Library, 1002 Railroad Ave. There will be a 30 minute break for lunch and attendees should bring a brown bag lunch. The cost to attend is $30. Offered by the Southwest Colorado Small Business Development Center, this seminar will introduce users to Quickbooks.
