For Pets Sake Humane Society recently received a $500 grant to help with the cost of spaying and neutering pets in the Towaoc community on the Ute Mountain Ute Reservation.
The funds were used at the Sept. 16 spay/neuter clinic held in Towaoc and sponsored by Soul Dog Rescue and For Pets Sake Humane Society. A total of 20 pets were altered 12 dogs and 8 cats using the grant funds. This was an all-volunteer effort and is part of an on-going effort to reduce pet over population in Montezuma County.
The next spay/neuter clinic is set for mid-December in Towaoc.
