KSJD Community Radio has hired a new local news and morning host, Daniel Rayzel.
The change comes after current host Austin Cope announced he was leaving KSJD to work in India for two years.
According to a news release from KSJD, Rayzel will train with Cope before taking over after Cope’s last day on June 15.
Rayzel recently graduated from Michigan State University, where he majored in journalism and minored in documentary production.
“He has produced radio pieces and published podcasts at Michigan Radio (an NPR member station), and acted as the news director at Impact 89FM in Lansing, Michigan,” Tom Yoder, KSJD programming and media director, wrote in a news release. “He also has contributed to digital exhibits at the American Archive of Public Broadcasting in Boston.”
The KSJD news release also announced the resignation of KSJD’s lead news reporter, Gail Binkly, who plans to leave on June 15.
