Its been a divisive political season, to say the least, but one thing we should all be able to agree upon is the need to support our nations veterans. The American Legion annually sponsors a parade to honor our veterans. Please join us.
The parade this year will be held on Monday, Nov. 12, at 1 p.m. Line-up starts at noon. Our starting point is Montezuma and Elm, and the parade will proceed down Montezuma eastbound to the Legion Post at 320 N. Harrison for a reception.
The community is encouraged to attend and participate. Entry forms can be picked up at Post #75, the Cortez Recreation Center, the Cortez Journal, or you can enter online by emailing afair@cityofcortez.com.
I hope you will all make time to get out and honor our dwindling ranks as we keep alive an American and community tradition.
