City: Condemnation never threatened to build Animas River Trail north

Great Outdoors Colorado questions project after resident raised concerns
The proposed Animas River Trail extension north is planned to be built in right of way owned by the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad. Parks and Recreation Director Cathy Metz told a city advisory board Monday the city never used eminent domain or threat of condemnation while planning the northern extension of the trail.
Tim Wolf, whose property runs along the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad tracks, notified Great Outdoors Colorado of what he perceived as a threat of condemnation by the city directed against him and other property owners along the proposed route of the Animas River Trail extension north of Durango.
