Town Board members went through a lengthy agenda Tuesday evening which included annexation of about 15 acres to the town to be known as the Tibbets Reynolds Addition.

Montezuma County Sheriff Clarence Williams advised the Start this week of the arrest of James Steven Lamkins, also known as "Rebel," on Friday, Aug. 3, on a Warrant from New Mexico.
Williams said Taos District Attorney's Office had forward the warrant and information charging him of taking a motorcycle at gunpoint and forcing the owner to sign it over at gunpoint.
The arrested is now being held under $10,000 bond as set by Judge W.W. Rusk. He was arrested by the sheriff with the assistance of two FBI officers, State Patrol Officer Sherman Kennell and sheriff's deputies Stan Chaffin and John Glazner.

With all areas of the country experiencing various shortages and particularly in food items, Dolores is no exception, although the impact is not as noticeable here.
"I don't like to talk scarcity," said Tom Martin, of Akin Mercantile, as he confirmed that there could be shortages in some areas with meat in particular. He said he has noticed some stocking up by persons buying at his store that is greater than usual, and it comes in lines that they have heard are in short supply, of course.
He said that his supply of beef may be limited until after the freeze date for lifting price freeze.

Southwest Forest Industries today announced that it has offered to purchase for cash the 113,142 outstanding shares ($1.00 par value) of preferred stock of Montezuma Plywood Company, its subsidiary, headquartered at Cortez. The offer expires Sept. 15, 1973.

The Montezuma County Board of Commissioners recently adopted a resolution requiring that before a driveway may be constructed entering onto the county roads, a permit must be obtained. The recommendation for such action was made by the County Planning Commission.
It was noted that many driveways have been constructed in such a manner to hinder the normal drainage of the roadways and in some cases, cause drainage from the adjacent property to flow onto the road. It was further noted that driveways have been constructed to enter the roadway at a point where there is poor visibility, thus creating a traffic hazard.
