Get ready for another exciting evening of racing in Cortez. Beginning at dusk Aug. 23 and 24, engines will once again roar at Fairgrounds Speedway.
Five classes of cars are scheduled to race, including Sport Compacts, Hobby-stocks, stock cars, Sport-mods and Modifieds. As usual, each class will feature preliminary heats prior to a final A-main event.
Among the drivers looking to build on previous success at Fairgrounds Speedway will be Modified driver Zane Devilbiss. During last month’s races in Cortez, Devilbiss came away victorious in the A-Main on Friday and Saturday night.
Local drivers primed for success include Hobby-stock driver Jim Griffin, Sport-mod driver Tony Hill and Modified driver Aaron Spangler.
