Coaches crave athletes like Dove Creek High School’s 138-pound senior Nick Jones.
A grappler for several years, Jones has grown to become one of the Bulldogs’ most influential and important leaders.
(Jones) has been wrestling since kindergarten, and he has a great attitude,” said Bulldogs head coach Shane Baughman.
Known for his grit and determination, Jones enters this year’s state tournament hoping to place for the first time since his freshman season.
Asked what it will take to make placing happen, Jones was short and sweet.
“It’s all about stepping your game up,” said the standout senior.
Kicking off his last high school tournament, Jones will match up against Fowler High School’s Rhett Hinkle (26-13) on Feb. 20.
