The Hisatsinom Chapter of the Colorado Archaeology Society is pleased to present Fred Blackburn on Tuesday, April 1 at 7 p.m. at the Methodist Church, 515 Park Street, Cortez, to discuss Prayer Rock: In the Shadow of the Bear.
Prayer Rock was the place of the last great archaeological horse expedition conducted by the Bernheimer expeditions in 1930. For 11 years, Blackburn investigated the area using reverse archaeology to find the 30 sites excavated and to make sense of the Basketmaker III discoveries.
