Competing at the Pine River Invitational in Bayfield on April 19, the Dove Creek High School boys and girls track teams won a few events, while falling just short in a few others.
Pacing the girls team as she has for much of the season was Madison Young, who finished first in the discus (103 feet, 4 inches) and first in the shot put (35 feet, 6¼ inches).
Also performing was Corissa Guynes, who finished first in the 300-meter hurdles (50.10) and second in the 100-yard dash (13.26).
Other Dove Creek girls cracking the top three included Kristin Knuckles, who finished second in the 1600 (6:14.81) and Jessica Guynes, who finished third in the 400 (1:06.25).
Leading the way for the boys team, Taylor Hankins finished third in the 300-meter hurdles (44.84) and fourth in the 200 (24.55).
The only other Dove Creek boy to crack the top-ten in an individual event was Chance Randolph, who finished sixth in the 400 (58.86).
Next up for the Bulldogs’ track teams will be the Aztec B&B Invitational, which will be held in Aztec, April 25-26.
