Faces in the Crowd The Business of Antiques

Shannon Livick/Dolores Star

Karen Thomsen, manager of Traditional Charm Antique Mall, loves to work in an old building with old things. She says she loves telling the story of the Exxon Mercantile building and loves hearing stories behind the antiques she sells. The building was built in 1905 and has only had three owners. Nearly everything in the building is orginal, including the wallpaper, flooring and shelves. In the back is a orginal hand elevator. Thomsen is a retired teacher and she lives with her husband on a ranch in Lewis.
