One night early this week, someone broke into a freight car on the siding near the Dolores Warehouse and hauled away 35 sacks of pinto beans, which had been loaded for shipment. Sheriff W. W. Dunlap was notified and the beans were traced to the Disappointment section where they were found on property said to be occupied by Charles Terrill. The beans were recovered and returned to Dolores and a warrant has been issued for the arrest of Terrill, but owing to the press of district court matters, Dunlap has not been able to bring the man in. Breaking the seal of a car is most serious offence and about the least punishment is said to be ten years in somebody's penitentiary. Terrill is already under bond for another alleged offence in another county.

The annual fall shipping season is in full swing this week, with cattle, sheep and farm and orchard products going out every day. The bean crop, which is bringing in the real money, is better than most people had hoped for and to date there have been more than 10,000 bags sent to market. This is but a part of the crop which will be sold, including the large amount Which will be sent south by truck. There will be a few cars of apples. George Wedell shipped four cars recently and there have been other shipments, totaling eight cars in all. This is not to be compared with the hundred and more cars sent out in previous years, but the major part of the crop this year is going south by truck and one which it is hard to get a check.
