The annual meeting of Southwestern Colorado Livestock Association, at the Cortez Elks Lodge. The morning session begins at 9 a.m. with reports from county and state officials. A presentation about the book "The Wild Wisdom of Weeds" will be given at 6:30 p.m. at Mancos Public Library, 211 W. First St., Mancos. Local author Katrina Blair and Mancos artist Jaime Becktel will present a slideshow of the 13 essential plants for human survival featured in the new book. Blair will share edible treats made from the recipes included in the book. Becktel will talk about rendering the drawings for the book.
