Animas River shatters all-time record low flow based on 109 years of data

The Animas River flows past the U.S. Geological Survey’s water gauge behind the Powerhouse Science Center on Tuesday. The gauge, which has been collecting data for 109 years, recorded an all-time low flow Dec. 25, when the river was running at 79.6 cubic feet per second. The previous record low was 94 cfs, recorded in 1913.
