The pioneers and outlaws of McElmo Canyon

Trail Canyon, 1895, the home of Norman Hall, Walter Hall’s dad. This beautiful home was across Trail Canyon to the left. Norman Hall and his brother Jasper had fruit orchards and shipped train loads of fruit and turkeys. They received awards on their apples at the World’s Fair. The people in the photo could have been Walter, Arthur, Lillie, Norman and wife, Jasper, wife and children. The horses and old wagon and tent are in the backyard.

Edith Tozer married Walter Hall, and they were the parents of five girls. Walter built the home prior to his marriage to Edith Tozer as he wanted his wife to have a house to call home. Their grandson, Sheldon Zwicker, resides in the home in 2020. The five girls were: Inez (Weyand); Lila (Zwicker); Rose (Mccabe) Norma “(Linderholm} and Faye (Christopher.)
